On the way back from Uruguay, we made a small sidetrip to Tigre, which is just outside of Buenos Aires on along the ParanĂ¡ Delta.
Back in the early 1800s, European invaders hunted down all the jaguars (tigres) in the delta until they ran away or became extinct in the area. The only sightings of tigres are found on municipal signs and traffic signals.

We went on a boat tour through one river in the delta... not much to report. It's just a river that is mainly used for residents along the river. What was fun to watch was all the dogs who would run to the docks in hopes that their owner would be on the passing boat.
