Day 6 in the Galapagos- Isla Fernandina, Espinosa Point, Isabela Island and Tagus Cove

At dawn, everyone on the boat was awaken by our guide letting us know to get on the deck and check out dolphins!  They got close enough to ride our waves and do some ariel jumps (which I missed)

Then we landed on Espinosa Point, on the north side of Isla Fernandina. We got to see more lizards, iguanas, sally lighfoot crabs, sea turtles and sea lions  and walk on more lava flow.

more snorkling. at this point, seeing sea turtles started to loose its wow-factor, but it was still cool to be so up close to them

then more snorkling after lunch!  It was rough to go back-to-back snorkling because the water was soooooooo cold, but it was worth it to start off with a handful of penguins to take us into the water...

these are the flightless cormorants- they dive down the water to find food. they are are really fast and stay underwater for less than ten seconds.

I am guessing that this is a harmless jellyfish?

after lunch, we made a landing on Tagus Cove- the graffiti is by buccaneers and other taggers who have been marking their landings as far back as 1800s.  Not much to see on land, just a big lake and a view of the island.

After the one hour walk around the area, we jumped in a dingy and floated around the cove to see what I had been waiting for on the whole tour- blue footed boobies. And they were out in droves!
