Hello Ecuador! I know I streaked through your countryside without much of a kiss, but I am back to make amends. Currently I am in Quito for the weekend. Your party town is a bit much for me, but even worse is the cold temperatures at the high altitudes of 2800 meters (9350 feet). This is the equator! I was expecting heat! The daytimes are warm enough - today I was biking around the city and barely broke a sweat. But the nighttimes are forcing me to break out the alpaca wool sweater. I am glad I didn´t discard it in Peru with the expectations of hot weather along this equator.
Oh well. Next week I will be in the Galapagos Islands, to see what Charles Darwin was rambling about.
